Synopsis
In the city of Miami, Andres and his younger brother Miguel are living under the control of their physically abusive father. After Andres decides to skip school, his seemingly adventurous escape brings an unexpected consequence. However, this experience propels him to fight back against his father in a fearless attempt to protect his younger brother.
Director Biography – Jose NavasJose Navas is the Executive Creative Director and founder of FlickHouse Studios. He studied film at Miami International University of Arts and Design. His work has been recognized by Telemundo, NBC, Miami Herald, and Miami New Times. The company released a feature documentary, MIAMI OUR CITY (2016), El Balsero (2019); a powerful short film about the first Cuban rafter to make it to Miami which recently made its broadcast debut on PBS. Beat Lingo, a narrative short will be released in early 2021 alongside his most recent film, With His Eyes Closed, a film about a young boys heroic effort to protect his younger brother from their abusive father.
