Director Biography
Erika Oregel is a young Mexican filmmaker in film and television since three years ago. In 2013 produced a short documentary named “No Hay Más”, which was finalist in the 2013 Guanajuato International Film Festival. In 2014 debuted as director with the documentary “El Noveno Horno”, winner of first prize of the “Identidad y Pertenencia” category of Guanajuato International Film Festival and in Enfoque International Film Festival of Puerto Rico 2014 and also in films festivals in Concordia, Spain and United States. This film it also was presented at the Short Film Corner of Cannes Festival 2015. Now, she is producing her third short documentary about boxing: “Mexican´t”: in coproduction with the Guanajuato International Film Festival in the Incubadora 2015 pitching program, in association with Estudios Churubusco and Estudios Galaz. At the end of 2015 she wrote and directed her first fiction film: “Domingo”, in collaboration with the Kinoroom Leon 2015 which one was premiered at the Cinematography Festival of the Atlantic University College of Puerto Rico. In 2016 she had a Residencia with the Sundance Film Festival 2016, in collaboration with The Hollywood Reporter and the Billboard during her stay. She worked as Director of Production at a local television channel producing a Magazine Program and also in RV Camp and Industry in the Guanajuato International Film Festival in México. Actually, she owns the company Livo (Linking Voices) which distributes film around the world.
