Synopsis
Phone Tales is a social issue-based short film anthology composed of three individual vignettes (He/Breathe/Milk), each about a woman in America named Sophia/Sofia who makes or receives a life-altering phone call. “He” is about a Muslim teenager who confronts her boyfriend and renews her relationship to her faith after having an abortion, “Breathe” is about an African-American grandmother with health issues whose grandson has an altercation with police while he’s picking up her asthma medication, and “Milk” is about a Latina mom with a new baby trying to juggle work and breast pumping while barraged with her clueless husband and chauvinist boss.
