Synopsis
A Cuban ladies’ man has his life turned upside down when a young Latina visits his beloved apartment.
A mockumentary taking place in the 1960s.
Aldo Pisano is a first generation immigrant. He was born in San Francisco and raised by South American parents.
As a writer/director, Aldo specializes in bold and inventive comedy. His passion is getting to put Latinx characters into new worlds.
Aldo studied screenwriting at NYU and acting at The Public Theater. Acting opposite Oscar Winner JK Simmons on TBS’ “Men at Work” was a particular highlight.
He participated in the NHMC’s TV Writers Program sponsored by ABC and NBC. He then wrote & directed “When the Bomb Drops” starring Emmy Winner Rachel Bloom of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”. This project was nominated for an Imagen Award for Best Web Series.
Aldo wrote for the ABC and CBS Showcases. He then sold a half-hour pilot to Turner Broadcasting’s Super Deluxe. In addition, Aldo developed a series with Jared Stern (“LEGO Batman Movie”) at Warner Bros.
Aldo wrote/directed the pilot, “Granny”, which premiered at HBO’s New York Latino Film Festival. He then directed “Romantic Skeletons”, which featured Lidia Porto (lead on Epix’s “Get Shorty”). This project gained Aldo acceptance into Sony’s Diverse Directors Program.
Aldo’s pilot, “Our Shag Pad”, premiered at the Austin Film Festival and was presented by WB’s Stage 13. This project won Best Web Series at Warner Media’s NY Latino Film Festival and Best Web Original at HBO’s Urbanworld.
He is in post-production on a horror comedy.
