Synopsis

Maritza fantasizes about all of the ways she would stand up for herself after one too many slights from her coworkers — until one day, fantasizing isn’t enough. This darkly funny short comedy explores the ways men, and even other women, often fail to support women of color in the workplace.

Director Biography

A native Pennsylvanian and current Washingtonian, Alexis Pazmiño is pursuing an MA in Film and Video at American University. Alexis served as a director and writer for “Chesapeake Footsoldiers,” a documentary for Maryland Public Television’s Chesapeake Bay Week 2016. She works in higher ed fundraising, and has performed stand-up comedy in the DC area. Alexis is passionate about tearing down the patriarchy, one joke at a time.
