Synopsis
A parody with a message on immigration and the lack of human rights for immigrants living in America.
Director Biography
Since beginning her acting career in 2000, Jesenia has become seasoned in both comedic and dramatic roles for theater, film and online.
Stand-Up, Sketch and Improv Background: In 2005, Jesenia began her comedy career honing her craft and performing stand-up at all the major comedy clubs in NYC, including Carolines, NY Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club and StandUp NY. In 2009, Jesenia created the The Ay Que Funny Sketch Comedy Show (AQF), where she served as the Head Writer, Co-Producer, Creative Director and Cast Member in the live and online sketch show, for its entire run from 2009-2011. In 2012, Jesenia began the Loco Motives, a musical/Armando formed Improv troupe. Jesenia continues to produce sketch comedy online content via her production company Comedy Girls Productions, LLC, which she co-owns and serves as Creative Director.
Webseries Background: Jesenia created and wrote the webseries sitcom – Becoming Ricardo – which is based on her original character – Ricardo Montalban, an off-beat, high-strung Latino macho-man. The sitcom is currently seeking more funding to continue filming episodes 5-10 of season one.
Jesenia has been listed in LATINA Magazine’s online Top 10 comedians and in FOX News Latino as a Latina who is ready for SNL and taking the internet by storm!
Training Background: Jesenia has trained at the Magnet theater, the People’s Improv Theater, Manhattan Comedy School, Black NEXXUS, the UCB and The Second City Training Center in Chicago.
