Just when veteran comedian, Lisa Alvarado, is feeling the squeeze of Hollywood on women and agism, she is faced with having to open for an inexperienced, millennial YouTube sensation, wanna-be comedian. But she’ll show her… or so she thinks.

Director’s Biography

Lisa Alvarado, The Latin Queen of Comedy, is Tina Fey meets Sophia Vergara. Lisa brings the funny with clever wit and a sassy fun attitude; relatable and quirky, using her own life as the punch line. Born to Peruvian parents in Chicago, Lisa knew she wanted to be a Stand Up Comedian at an early age. She writes all her own material and enjoys sharing her gift of laughter with audiences around the world, including several overseas shows for the Troops.
Lisa is a National Headliner to many theatres, clubs, colleges and corporate events. TV appearances include: NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, Nick at Nite’s “Funniest Mom in America 2″, “Comics Unleashed” with Byron Allen, “Stand Up in Stilettos” on TV Guide Network, NuvoTV, and many more. Lisa also played Paul Rodriguez’s sidekick on 20 episodes of “Mis Videos Locos” on the MTV Network. Ms. Alvarado was voted “Best Up & Coming Latino Comedian” by The LA Comedy Festival and her jokes have been quoted in The New York Times. Currently, she is working as a writer on a new comedy game show airing this fall, her next one-hour Comedy DVD and is the creator & producer of a her own web series.
