A single mother shaken from PTSD searches for relief from her terrorizing nightmares.
Hailed as a Renaissance woman of Austin Texas by The New York Times, Patricia Vonne began her film career in animation using stop-motion photography. She took home the Best Animation Award at the Madrid International Film Festival for Huerta de San Vicente, an homage to Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. Also the winner of “El Rey Award” at the Barcelona International Film Festival, “Excellent Animation Award” in San Francisco International New Concept Film Festival.
Vonne’s first animation film “El Marinero y La Sirena” ( The Sailor and the Mermaid) won the “Audience Award” at Cine Las Americas International Film Festival.
Her Animation “Paris Trance” won “Excellent Animation Award” at the San Francisco International New Concept Film Festival & was the official selection at Paris Independent Film Fest, Paris Short Film Festival & Madrid International Film Festival.
Cold Dark Hollow debuted in her mother’s hometown at the El Paso Film Festival and stars her sister Angela Lanza. Winner of the Best Actress Award at the Cannes International Independent Film Festival 2020, Best Cinematography at Madrid International Film Festival 2020, Nice International Film Festival ( Nominee for Best Short, Editing and Sound Design), New York International Film Festival, Roma Cinema Doc Film Festival, Hell’s Kitchen NYC Film Fest, Glasgow Feel the Reel Film Fest, Florence Film Awards winner for Honorable Mention Best Horror, and Shock Fest.
“Cold Dark Hollow” is my homage to Rod Serling. Being one of 10 children it was a favorite treat to watch a healthy dose of the Twilight Zone together. Our mother would always tell us how Serling had a brilliant way of infusing wisdom, intelligence and deep emotion into his incredible stories.Just the perfect amount of creepiness to jolt the viewer to look at themself, face their weaknesses and correct their faults and find their own basic diginites. May he continue to inspire us.
