Grizel “Chachi” Del Valle
is a multifaceted performer who is certain to leave you infatuated with her spell-binding talents. She is a trained singer/songwriter, actress, and dancer who has created a household name for herself with more than 15 years of experience in the industry.
She is a Newark NJ native, however, she is deeply rooted in her Puerto Rican culture as she spent most of her summers as a young girl in her family’s home in Mayaguez, PR. This is where she was introduced to salsa, bomba and plena (the folkloric dances of Puerto Rico) and began to develop her love for music, dance, and the true essence of her heritage.
Chachi’s infectious charisma combined with her talent and desire to perform were realized at a very early stage in her life. Her unrelenting dedication and passion for dance grew rapidly, as well as her unique style and technique, which garnered her many accolades amongst the dance community. Her undeniable drive led her to be recruited to teach, compete, and judge dance competitions across the United States and Europe, and even performed at the renowned Theater of London in the musical “Magic of Salsa Kingdom’ produced by the highly respected dance guru, Maria Torres. They also worked together in the Hecor Lavoe bio-pic “El Cantante” with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, in which del Valle was one of eight principal dancers.
Being part of a number of productions with Torres and having been an influence for del Valle for so many years, she was inspired to create and produce her own shows. The first of them being an eccentric burlesque show performed at Duane Park titled “Fiebre”, where she gained high praises while paying tribute to some of the most iconic women in music, for instance, Celia Cruz, La Lupe, Amy Winehouse, and Iris Chacon. Her mass appeal and alluring nature are only a few of the characteristics you’ll witness during these shows whilst being sucked into her transcendent world of fantasy.
You may have seen her gracing the stage opposite the legendary Tito Nieves in the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway musical “I Like it Like That” taking on three main roles 8 times a week. Aside from working with Nieves, she has collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the industry, such as Sergio George, Romeo Santos, Don Omar, and Olga Tañon. Her voice has graced the stages of exemplary venues such as Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, NJPAC and Lincoln Center.
She is currently blazing her own trail as an independent artist, working towards creating music that will be emblematic yet therapeutic – filled with love and light – and continue to pave the way to a fulfilling career as a global artist.
