ALLSWELL is a Nuyorican Odyssey of family trauma and reconciliation. The script was developed collaboratively between the director and the three lead actors. Together they drew inspiration from a mash-up of people, places, and events from their own lives, to fuel this moving family dramedy.

Director Biography – Ben Snyder

Ben’s award winning feature film, 11:55, with Elizabeth Rodriguez, John Leguizamo and Julia Stiles was released theatrically nationwide and is currently airing on Showtime. Ben’s previous short films have played at festivals including Cannes, Aspen Shortfest, Austin Film Festival, and been featured on the PBS series On Story. Ben have written and developed television for Channel 4 London, Lionsgate Entertainment, and BET. Their original series Party People starring and produced by André Holland is in development at Warner Brothers.
Ben is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and playwright. He was a writer for the Netflix series Grand Army and is currently producing and writing for HBO’s Betty. Ben’s plays have been produced at P.S. 122, The Vineyard Theater, Crossroads Theatre, The Apollo Theater, New York Stage and Film, and at HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. His plays have been nominated for NAACP Image Awards and published in the anthology, “Say Word! Voices from Hip Hop Theater,” Michigan Press. Ben is a member of Labyrinth Theater Company and the Writers Guild of America East. He is the Area Head of Screenwriting at Brooklyn College.
